David Ewing Duncan is an award-winning science and political journalist in print, television, and radio; the best-selling author of ten books published in 21 languages; and an entrepreneur and researcher in personal and molecular health data who has co-founded two companies. He is the founding director of the Center of Life Science Policy at UC Berkeley. His current book is Talking to Robots: Tales from our Human-Robot Futures (Dutton-Penguin). He is also the author of the bestsellers Experimental Man (Wiley) and Calendar (HarperCollins). David is CEO and Curator of Arc Fusion, a columnist for Vanity Fair and for the Daily Beast, and a frequent contributor to Wired, Vanity Fair, MIT Technology Review, The New York Times, Atlantic, and others. He has written for Fortune, National Geographic, Discover, Life, Time, Newsweek, and many others. He is a former commentator for NPR's Morning Edition, and a special correspondent and producer for ABC’s Nightline and 20/20. David co-founded Ecoeos, Inc., the world’s first environmental genetic testing company. David’s work has won numerous awards, including Magazine Story of the Year from AAAS, and he recently served on a select committee of the National Academies of Sciences on science communications.
