Singularity Chair: Global Grand Challenges

Nathaniel Calhoun is the Co-Chair of Global Grand Challenge Singularity Expert,  at Singularity University, where he helps to guide strategy and messaging around how technology can be used to solve the world's biggest problems. He speaks publicly on currency innovations, new business models, emerging markets, international aid and development, biodiversity, the future of work and the future of education.Nathaniel Calhoun specializes in co-designing technologies that help to scale proven interventions in low income countries and challenging environments.

He founded CODE Innovation in 2007 to help development work organizations like UNICEF or DFiD across more than two dozen countries, most of them in Sub-Saharan Africa. Nathaniel has a deep understanding of the social and cultural factors that influence technology roll out and program success. Current projects focus on financial inclusion, women's empowerment, and biodiversity monitoring.Nathaniel advises technology startups in the arena of artificial intelligence, blockchain and alternative currencies. He also consults on a variety of startup programs and for groups designing new approaches to accelerators and incubators.
