Owen Gaffney is an Anthropocene analyst, futurist and writer. He lives in a forest outside Stockholm on the edge of the world’s largest archipelago. He believes the future is bright for humanity. Owen has published ground-breaking analyses on the state of Earth and is a regular contributor to New Scientist and other international media – both scientific and non-scientific on subjects ranging from geopolitics, climate change and the state of the oceans to artificial intelligence and data visualisation. He co-founded the Future Earth Media Lab and Rethink.Earth and is on the editorial board of Anthropocene Magazine. He works for three leading institutes exploring the future of humanity: Stockholm Resilience Centre, the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research and Globaia. He is an Edmund Hillary Fellow. He is a co-founder of Gaiaxia, a new film production company.
