SAN DIEGO, CA – November 6, 2017 – Singularity University (SU), a global community with a mission to educate, inspire, and empower leaders to apply exponential technologies to address humanity’s grand challenges, today announced its seventh annual Exponential Medicine conference, taking place at the Hotel del Coronado in San Diego, November 6-9, 2017. Over 600 innovators from across the healthcare, technology, biopharma, engaged patient, and investment worlds will join over 70 world-class faculty and 55 innovative startups to explore cutting-edge technology and its potential to reshape health care across the planet.Founded in 2011 by Dr. Daniel Kraft, a Stanford and Harvard trained physician-scientist, and SU’s Faculty Chair of Medicine and Neuroscience, Exponential Medicine is a complete reinvention of the traditional medical conference. At Exponential Medicine, participants learn about, experience, and discuss the current and future implications and impact of fast-evolving and convergent exponential technologies, from artificial intelligence, robotics, and digital health, to regenerative medicine and virtual reality. Over 50 startups will be featured in the Innovation Lab, enabling hands-on technology demonstrations and a startup competition. The Lab, faculty talks, topic tracks, breakout sessions, and demos encourage in-depth discussion and debate.“I designed Exponential Medicine to be at the center of thought leadership and the practical application of these emerging technologies on health care in the next two to 10 years,” said Dr. Kraft. “I’ve seen firsthand how bringing together world-class leaders at Exponential Medicine allows for the sharing of insights leading to breakthroughs and scientific developments that have had significant impact. For four days, we are all inspired to think exponentially and interact with each other with the goal of exploring the latest technology game changers.”“Traditionally, knowledge and health care resources existed in the hands of the few; now, the capacity to create and innovate is in the hands of everyone,” said Asif Dhar, Principal, Deloitte Consulting LLP, and Chief Health Informatics Officer. “From Bangladesh to Boston, technology has the potential to democratize health care. Deloitte is excited to collaborate with SU on this year’s Exponential Medicine conference. We look forward to participating in an event that empowers participants to envision and unlock exponential growth and opportunities across biomedicine.”2017 Exponential Medicine Faculty and topics include:
